Adolfsallee

It was planned in 1870 and is without doubt the most splendid of those streets running North to South across the city.

The Adolfsallee and Adolfstraße connect Luisenplatz with Biebricher Allee (Biebrich Avenue).
In a federal competition held between 1976 an 1978 for exemplary achievements in the protection of historical sites in urban centres, the transformation, or rather restoration, of the Adolfsalle from a street with loud road traffic into a quiet residential area, was award a gold medal.
