Wiesbaden is considered the cradle of golf in Germany: Here Englishmen and Scotsmen founded the first golf club on German soil in 1893. With the 18-hole “Golf Course Rheinblick”, which is owned by the US Army, a 9-hole course at “Chausseehaus” and the 18-hole Golf-Club Main-Taunus course in Wiesbaden-Delkenheim, there are a total of three golf courses in Wiesbaden. Hessen’s state capital is also home to the Deutscher Golf Verband (German Golf Association) and the Vereinigung clubfreier Golfspieler (German Association of Club-free Golfers).
