A chapel becomes a cultural site

The Hospital of the Merciful Brothers of Montabaur was built in the heart of the old town in 1864. It served as a hospital until 1966 when the premises were converted into apartments.

The chapel was preserved, was taken over by the Brentanos Erben association, and transformed into a "free space" for culture – the "Monta cultural site". A varied programme of dance, theatre, and literature is on offer.
