„How to create brand-experiences with impact“
The RMCC as a stylish festival location
The NEXTLIVE.FESTIVAL has transformed the Halle Süd (opens in a new tab) of the RMCC into a cozy, hip feel-good and meeting space - in keeping with the industrial style of the hall with its stainless steel-clad walls and light terrazzo floor.
One of the partition walls was used to make the south hall slightly smaller and thus more "homely": This very design concept was stringently pursued through various "living" lounges furnished with dark leather and velvet sofas, side tables, indirect lighting elements and carpets. The floor-to-ceiling windows at the front provided the festival space in the area of these expert breakout lounges with daylight, while the screen and stage inside the hall were darkened. Lushly planted steel elements that structured the space, large olive trees, atmospheric and indirect lighting, bar tables and chairs made of dark wood completed the modern, homely character of the festival space.
A large catering island formed the central point of the space - a steel structure decorated with hanging plants and atmospheric lighting, open on all sides.
The highlight: three inflatable "igloo tents", so-called domes, provided unique subspaces within the festival space for the masterclasses. These inflatable domes had an enormous aura and could be illuminated in any desired color using LEDs.

Expert breakout with conclusion: "Live events are the new social media" by VOK DAMS
In a lively expert breakout session, Niklas Stommel from the renowned event and live marketing agency VOK DAMS summarized once again why live events are needed more than one-sided social media to interactively share content and messages with a community:
- Facebook has been replaced by Instagram and TikTok - but: there is no more interaction here, "social" in "social media" is lost
- from many-to-many to one-to-many (followers only consume, there is no interaction)
- Focus on short video content, because users now only have an attention span of 0.4 seconds, mere entertainment, authenticity is lost
- Live events are taking the place where "social media" once stood: interactive, social, communicative, authentic, emotional
- Increasing value and demand for live events
- One of the most important reasons: Meeting other people and socializing, activating the campfire gene that is in all of us
- Events as emotional lighthouse projects and therefore important components of marketing
- Tip: Create digital background noise with live events as highlights
- Live event as the central focus of every marketing campaign that radiates to all channels
- Live events as content providers
After all, that's ultimately what drives us all to organize events - regardless of the size and context: meeting people, making contacts, exchanging ideas, taking away input.
We are looking forward to the second NEXTLIVE.FESTIVAL in 2024 - again in Wiesbaden, of course again at the RMCC!
