Barrier-free events in Wiesbaden

Every person has a right to inclusive contact with other people. In Wiesbaden, there have already been many opportunities and measures for years that make it easier for people with disabilities to participate in life.

Barrier-free in the RMCC

The event locations are also committed to this topic. The planners at the RheinMain CongressCenter (RMCC) have undertaken to implement this fundamental right in a service and comfort-oriented manner. In this way, not only the guests and visitors profit from barrier-free programmes, but the event organisers too.

In summer 2021, the RMCC was certified according to the criteria of the nationwide certification system for barrier-free travel offers "Reisen für Alle (“Trips for everyone”).

The relevant data on barrier-free accessibility on site were gathered by an independent expert and evaluated by the certification office in Berlin.

Barrier-free in the Kurhaus

The Kurhaus Wiesbaden has also undertaken to implement this fundamental right as far as possible within the framework set down in the protection of historic buildings and monuments.

Event rooms on ground level, barrier-free access from the Bowling Green (main entrance) and the Kurpark (rear entrance), support when needed by a bell at reception, sanitary facilities suitable for wheelchairs without steps as well as 20 disabled parking spaces are available to the guests.

The website "Wiesbaden barrierefrei" (opens in a new tab) was initiated so that persons with disabilities can better organise and plan their everyday lives. Residents of Wiesbaden and visitors to the city can inform themselves there about barrier-free accessibility in public buildings and other facilities in the city such as hotels and restaurants including their furnishings and fittings. Furthermore, there is plenty of useful information all about the topic of barrier-free accessibility, advice and event tips. The site is barrier-free in as far as possible and can therefore also be used by blind persons. A read-aloud function is also integrated.
